My original story is Snow White. I chose this story is because this is a well-known and classic story. It is a fairy tale but show the cruelty of humanity, which shows a contrast of darkness and lightness.

In my version, I focus more on the Evil Queen and want to give the story a better ending. At first, I was thinking about how to save Snow White from Evil Queen. However, the more I experiment the story, the more I found that Evil Queen is a crucial character that develop the whole story and she is too simple. So I tried to make her more complex. In the movie, I found that she lost her beauty after creating the poisoned apple. I thought someone like her who focus one beauty so much must reach some kind of collapse after loosing it. Therefore, in my version, I add some kindness to this character to make her crazy and psychosis. I thought there must be some emptiness after she lost her everything. I also focus on jealousy. There is some illustrations that shows her jealousy, which shows she could only see Snow White getting better and better.

My work communicates time and motion in some way. Firstly, it was a reflection of Evil Queen, so the comic shows her memory. I use illustration and words to show that this failed revenge of Evil Queen is a really fast process. Because it’s in the memory, some scenes shift really fast. Secondly, I want to show the regret of Evil Queen. So in the end, I put some apple there to show the poisoned apples are left there and are decaying.
